Board approves districtwide access-control upgrade funded from IT allocation

The Haysville USD 261 Board of Education voted to move forward with a proposed access-control upgrade for district buildings, district staff said. The work will be paid from funds the district had previously set aside for IT projects.
Jason Soupene (IT staff) presented materials and answered board questions about the proposed system and schedule. Jennifer moved to approve implementation; Kelly seconded and the board voted 7-0 in favor.
District staff said the upgrade will be funded from the IT allocation included in the budget and that vendor selection and contract details will be brought to the board as part of project implementation. Staff listed follow-up tasks including finalizing a vendor contract and producing a timeline for phased implementation across buildings.
