Berkeley County Council honors Pastor Henry E. Dixon, proclaims September 2025 Workforce Development Month

Berkeley County Council adopted two proclamations during its regular meeting on Sept. 8, 2025: one honoring Pastor Henry E. Dixon and another designating September 2025 as Workforce Development Month in Berkeley County.

The council's proclamation for Pastor Henry E. Dixon noted his longtime ministry in the county, musical contributions and community leadership. Chairman Johnny P. Cribb presented the proclamation and invited Pastor Dixon to speak.

Pastor Henry E. Dixon addressed the council and thanked members and the community, saying he and his wife appreciated the honor and asking the council to “continue to do the good work that the Lord has allowed you to do,” according to remarks on the record.

Separately, council adopted a proclamation naming September 2025 as Workforce Development Month and cited state-level workforce gains, the state’s unified plan for education and workforce development, and the coordinating council for workforce development. The proclamation encouraged residents to “celebrate the Palmetto State’s accomplishment in workforce development and honor the workforce development professionals” working locally.

Both proclamations were adopted by voice vote during the meeting; the record shows the motions carried without recorded opposition.
