Wayzata High student council vice president outlines fall activities, to serve as national representative

"My name is Rachel Yan, and as a student body vice president, I will be providing monthly reports to the school board on the Wayzata High School experience," she said. Yan told the board the school’s link crew welcomed roughly 1,000 freshmen on the first day of school; about 130 student leaders assisted in the effort. She said the student body’s enrollment puts the high school at about 4,000 students.
Yan also announced she will serve as Minnesota state representative to the National Student Council and summarized upcoming student activities, including homecoming planning, theater productions, and preprofessional club meetings. She said athletics are off to a strong start, with girls cross country and tennis recording early wins and boys varsity soccer defeating Hawkins 2–0.
Board members asked a question about the Trojan Tribune student-run outlet and accessing its reporting; Yan said issues are accessible via the Tribune’s Instagram and QR codes.
