Votes at a glance: Bicknell council approves building permit, accepts minutes and pays bills

The Bicknell Town Council recorded several routine and substantive motions at its Sept. 4 meeting:
- Cancel municipal election (resolution): Council voted to cancel the Nov. 4, 2025 municipal election and certified three candidates (see separate article). The resolution cited Utah Code 28-1-206.
- Building permit (Galen Reese): The council approved a motion to pass the building permit for Galen Reese with the condition that the town building inspector sign off on the work; the motion was made by Steve and seconded by Greg. Council members said issuance will follow inspector approval and fee payment.
- Planning & Zoning actions forwarded: Planning and Zoning approved Reese’s subdivision (north–south split to produce two lots of just over half an acre) and forwarded a revised extended‑stay ordinance to the Town Council with a recommendation to approve.
- Pay bills: The council moved to pay the town bills; the motion carried during the meeting.
Routine minutes acceptance: The council moved to accept the August town board meeting minutes and the August work meeting minutes; both motions were seconded and carried.
Why it matters: The votes advance specific projects (a subdivision and a conditioned building permit), perform routine municipal business (minutes and bills) and implement the council’s earlier procedural decision to cancel the municipal election. The building permit remains contingent on a building-inspector sign-off.
