Board names DLR Group commissioning agent for Greyhound Performing Arts Center HVAC

The Burlington Community School District board on Sept. 8 approved DLR Group as the commissioning agent for HVAC systems at the Greyhound Performing Arts Center.
Project manager Cindy Larsenwood recommended DLR Group after the district received three proposals; DLR’s low proposal totaled $23,125, Larsenwood said. Staff recommended hiring DLR because the firm is serving as the commissioning agent on the district’s high school project and can perform peer review of HVAC drawings and the project’s sequence of operations before drawings go to bid in mid‑October.
Board members moved and seconded approval of the recommendation; the motion passed on a voice vote with no opposing votes recorded.
Cindy Larsenwood said the commissioning agent’s role will include reviewing programming-level documentation and the sequence of operation — tasks beyond simple ductwork review. No contract document was read into the record and no additional fiscal approvals were recorded beyond the recommended proposal amount.
