Tenants honored and praise for staff as housing authority presents community pride awards

Residents at several Queen Anne's County Housing Authority properties received community-pride recognitions and one tenant leader publicly thanked board members for improvements to their developments.
Debbie Brunetti, who identified herself as tenant council president at Foxtown, told the board the tenant council has worked to involve residents in property stewardship. "We don't even start the meeting till he gets there," Brunetti said of Chairperson Steve Wilson's attendance at tenant meetings, adding, "They've made it a very nice place to live."
The board read a plaque into the record recognizing former board chair Judy Kropfelter for service on the housing authority board from July 2020 through November 2023; the record notes she served as chair in 2023 and as vice chair beginning December 2021.
Presentations of community-pride awards were announced for residents at Terrapin Grove (Maureen Whaley, Susan Dolly, Diana Sell), Graceville Terrace (Sam Stokes, Charles Reid), and Foxtown (Gary Webster, Debbie Brunetti, Beverly Dads, Butch Dads). The board asked award recipients to join for a group photo; several recipients accepted and the room acknowledged their volunteer work maintaining gardens and picking up litter that staff said reduced maintenance burdens and improved community appearance.
The recognitions preceded the executive director's report and were organized by "Mr. Clark," who read the award language into the record while board and staff presented plaques and photos.
