Council approves up to $3 million to support Columbus Metropolitan Library phase 2 renovations

The ordinance authorizes up to $1,800,000 from the Northland and other acquisitions bond fund and up to $1,000,200 from the streets and highways bond fund, for a total not to exceed $3,000,000.
Barrosa de Padilla described the work as part of a multi-branch effort in the library’s 2020 vision plan, and said designs for the updated and new facilities are complete and will provide improved assets for their service areas. The ordinance authorizes the director of public service to enter into a contribution agreement with the library and declares an emergency to permit prompt execution of the agreement.
No amendments or additional conditions were recorded in the meeting remarks. Council approved the ordinance on passage.
