The Aberdeen School Board heard an intradistrict transfer report Sept. 8 showing 250 transfer requests from district families and a 97% approval rate.
Superintendent Dr. Guffin told the board that the district approved about 97% of the 250 requests and that processing became more difficult as requests arrived just before the school year began. "We did receive 250 of those transfer requests and we were able to approve 97% of those this year," Dr. Guffin said, noting last year’s approval rate was 100%.
Board members asked about timing and logistics; the superintendent said late requests are harder to manage but that the district's approval rate this year was similar to past years. No policy changes were proposed during the report.
