Norwood Chamber expands outdoor programming with weekly movie nights and Noelle Night plans

Representatives of the Norwood Chamber told the San Miguel County Lodging Tax Panel on Oct. 1 that the chamber is running an outdoor film series in Town Park and preparing for its annual Noelle Night event on Dec. 5.
Carrie, speaking for the chamber, said the Fourth Friday film-in-the-park series has grown since it began earlier in the year. The chamber partners with the library to use a large inflatable screen and popcorn machine; staff from town hall added hooks to a wall to help secure the screen in windy conditions. "We're a 100% doing that ourselves," Carrie said of the film series, noting plans to seek partner non-profits next year to provide food and increase capacity.
Carrie listed other community activities the chamber runs or supports, including Pioneer Day events in coordination with the Ute Study Club and judging of a local parade. The chamber expects Noelle Night to be a major December draw and is already preparing logistics and promotions.
Panel members praised the community programming as a way to increase local engagement and diversify off-season events that serve both residents and visitors. The chamber said it cross-promotes with neighboring communities' events where practical and is open to additional promotion with nearby mountain-village organizations.
