Aurora East USD 131 to hold public hearing and take action on FY26 budget Sept. 15

Staff told the Aurora East USD 131 finance and personnel committee on Sept. 2 that the district's full FY26 budget documents are posted and will be presented for action at the board meeting scheduled Sept. 15.
A staff member said the packet contains the July 2025 revenue, expenditure and fund-balance reports and the July payroll reports, and that the complete FY26 budget documents will be dropped for action at the full board meeting on Sept. 15, when the public hearing will be held.
Committee members asked whether any figures had changed since the last review; Michael Engel, a committee member, said, "Nothing has changed." Staff confirmed the budget materials have been on public display on the district website and that a legal advertisement announcing the hearing had been placed in the newspaper.
No formal vote or adoption occurred at the Sept. 2 committee meeting; the packet was informational and the board will consider final action after the public hearing Sept. 15.
