The Sullivan County purchasing director told the Government Services Committee on Sept. 4 that the office processed 282 purchase orders in the reporting period and that existing recycling work, executed contracts, extended bids and several requests for proposals are active, including elevator renovations and forensic pathologist services. The purchasing director also said a dishwasher order for the adult care center is ready pending a final clean copy of the agreement.
The director said: “Our monthly report is attached to the agenda. ... We processed 282 purchase orders.” The director reported current solicitations include elevator renovations, forensic pathologist services for the coroner’s office and an RFP for operation of the airport restaurant.
Committee members also discussed election logistics. A committee member said the Board of Elections’ early voting begins Oct. 25 and that officials are working to accommodate voters with disabilities; main voting would remain in the committee room with accommodations planned if the elevator were unavailable. No formal vote or directive was recorded on election-site changes.
The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn. A legislator moved to adjourn, another seconded, and the committee approved the motion by voice vote.
No ordinances, contracts or other formal county actions were adopted during the committee’s meeting beyond routine procurement activity updates included in the purchasing report.
