Vacaville Parks & Recreation honors Jennifer Baker for 20 years of service

The Vacaville Parks & Recreation Commission on Wednesday recognized recreation supervisor Jennifer Baker for more than 20 years of service to the city.
Director Mulder introduced the item and asked Baker to come forward. Elizabeth Crisante, recreation manager, described Baker’s tenure, noting that she began in part-time gymnastics roles after graduating from Sacramento State and rose to full-time recreation coordinator in 2008 and later to recreation supervisor. Crisante said Baker oversees youth and adult sports, aquatics, concessions and the Georgie Duke Sports Center and serves as liaison to local leagues.
“Jennifer has been with the city of Vacaville and the parks and recreation department for over 20 years, providing quality programming, customer service, and leadership,” Crisante said. She highlighted Baker’s role in growing the gymnastics program, leading teams during changes brought by COVID and mentoring staff.
Baker accepted a small gift and an award; commissioners congratulated her on the milestone. The item was presented as part of the commission’s regular meeting and did not require action beyond the recognition.
Ending: Commissioners thanked Baker for her decades of service to Vacaville and posed for a brief photo at the dais.
