Council hears proposal to extend summer hours and adopt flexible hours for administrative staff

Council members asked how the change would affect public service hours and whether it required a formal council vote. Sutton and the mayor said the policy would maintain 40 public hours and that the flex plan would appear on a future regular council meeting for formal approval. Sutton used the example of an employee who must leave midday to take a family member to dialysis and said flex time would help that employee make up hours without using vacation time.
