The project will run from Highway 199 to the Grantsville city limit near the county water facility; Grantsville City did not join the multi-jurisdictional application and will not receive project improvements under this award.
Officials said the award includes a 20% local match requirement; the county used its third-quarter sales-tax allocation to provide the match funding. Town staff said state-level engineering will begin with the award and that they expect project activity to commence in coming planning/engineering phases. Council members cautioned that implementation will be gradual because federal and state engineering and contracting timelines are lengthy.
No council vote was required on the funding note during the meeting; the council reported the program-level funding update to inform the community and stakeholders.
