The Rush Valley Town Council approved purchase of new furnaces for the town hall from Sunset Heating & Air and authorized up to $1,100 for a laptop intended for cemetery recordkeeping and possible use for the Red Brick Church museum.
Town staff reported repeated air-conditioning and furnace problems and provided a quote for two new furnaces. The vendor was identified as Sunset Heating & Air; meeting remarks recorded a purchase sum of $11,758. One council member said the work should be completed before winter to avoid frozen pipes. The council moved and seconded the purchase and the motion carried.
Separately the council authorized the mayor and staff to purchase a laptop for cemetery management, approving up to $1,100 to permit a higher-spec machine rather than a lower-cost unit. Council members discussed software-transfer issues and noted the town would pay for required licenses. The laptop authorization passed by motion.
