The resident said a crew arrived about 7 a.m. with heavy equipment to remove a large tree across the street and operated loud chipper and saw equipment all day; she described an extreme physiological reaction that prompted a 911 call and said a police officer later told her the crew would finish by day’s end. She said a city visit to the police department revealed there is no city ordinance restricting such work on Sundays and asked council to adopt rules requiring permits and at least 24 hours’ notice to nearby residents for large commercial projects.
The mayor and city clerk thanked the resident and suggested she submit documentation to the city clerk so it can be added to the public record and shared with staff for follow‑up. No immediate council action was taken; staff said the clerk would accept materials for the record and the matter could be considered in future code updates.
