Anna planning commission approves consent agenda including three new commercial permits

The City of Anna Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved the meeting’s consent agenda (items 6a–6f) during its Sept. 3, 2025 meeting.
The consent package, approved by roll call, bundled routine administrative and minor development items. Commissioner Martin moved to approve items 6a through 6f; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Commissioners discussed one item on the consent list: a zoning-related application for a new McDonald’s. Commissioner Volmer said the proposed restaurant would be the city’s third McDonald’s within roughly a two-mile radius and asked staff to record that concern when the commission forwards the item to council. Lauren Mecchi, planning manager, said the application meets the C-1 zoning requirements currently in place and noted that McDonald’s is investing in Anna.
The commission took no further public comment on the consent items and moved on to individually noticed agenda items.
The unanimous vote leaves the consent items to be forwarded to city council where applicable or executed per staff practice.
