The Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Liaison report at the Sept. 3 Planning Commission meeting summarized multiple regional-plan conformance actions and updates.
Commissioner Christina Delviar said the regional body reviewed updates to bring several plans into conformance with the Truckee Meadows Regional Plan adopted in 2024. Items reported included conformance of Washoe County School District facilities, the Reno Tahoe International Airport master plan, and the Reno-Stead Airport master plan. The liaison also noted Reimagine Reno and the Sparks Comprehensive Plan were brought into conformance with the regional plan.
Delviar said a comprehensive land-use designation change in Sparks (from industrial to commercial) was approved and that the Indigo Basin solar project — an array sited outside the urban area — was approved as a project of regional significance. She also noted the Stonegate item (which had received a technical denial at a recent regional meeting by a 5-4 vote) will return to the Reno City Council for the council to determine whether to object to the regional planning commission denial; council was scheduled to consider that matter on Sept. 10.
The liaison report was informational and did not require action by the Planning Commission at the meeting.
