Cerro Gordo County supervisors approve routine reports, certify special-election costs and abate one tax bill

The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors voted Monday to approve a set of routine annual reports, certify a special-election invoice to a municipality and abate taxes on one parcel.
The board approved the annual USDA report for the Missouri Sanitary Sewer loan requirement, the county's 509a actuarial certification for its self-funded health insurance fund, and the annual urban renewal (TIF) report required by the state. Each item was presented, motioned and approved with the chair calling for the ayes.
The board certified the county's final bill for a Sept. 9 special election to fill two council vacancies in Swaddell at $2,537.60 and said that Iowa Code allows the county to bill the city for the actual election costs. A motion to certify the bill passed. "On September 9, we have a special election ... and in front of you is the final bill that will be submitted to the city as well for $2,537.60," a board member said during the presentation.
The treasurer's office presented a recommendation to abate taxes on parcel 07-09-230-012-00 in the amount of $9,200; the board moved, seconded and approved the abatement. During the roll call on that item, two board members identified as Paul and Beamer were recorded as voting yes.
Other routine business on the agenda — including approval of the agenda and September meeting minutes and an adjournment motion — passed by voice vote. No contested actions or policy changes were adopted during the meeting.
The board's approvals complete required filings for federal and state programs and clear administrative steps tied to county operations; no further implementation steps were listed for the certified or approved items at the meeting.
