Esperanza Carmel appeal and reasonable-accommodation policy slated for council update

City officials said the council will receive an update in October on the appeal of the Esperanza Carmel project (the JB Pastor Building at Seventh and Dolores) and that the council will consider a reasonable-accommodation policy as part of the housing element obligations.

One official said, “Monday is almost entirely dedicated to the Esperanza Carmel, the JB Pastor Building. That's the building at Seventh And Dolores that was on appeal from the planning commission, the findings for decision. So that'll be on Monday.” The same speaker also noted a “reasonable accommodation policy, which is part of our housing element obligation.”
