The St. Francois County Commission voted to authorize purchase of a bank building, approving up to $1,515,000 plus closing costs and directing staff to finalize the wire transfer at closing.
Commissioners approved a motion to use the county’s general stabilization fund to complete the purchase, after staff explained the scheduled closing was being pushed to the following Friday because of insurance paperwork delays and that the final wiring amount could change slightly by closing day.
During discussion, a staff member said an earlier motion had proposed wiring $1,417,774.12; that motion was withdrawn and replaced with a motion that included the full $1,515,000 purchase price plus closing costs. Commissioners then voted “aye” on the motion.
The motion authorized county staff to complete the wire at the time of closing. Officials said the final closing costs were not available at the meeting.
The commission did not provide a roll-call vote tally in the transcript.
The purchase will use the county general stabilization fund; staff noted the final closing costs remained to be determined and could slightly alter the final wired amount.
