Lakewood staff continue due diligence on 1470 Warren Road acquisition; council receives update

Planning Director Byington told Lakewood City Council on Sept. 2 that the planning and development department has been responding to council—s questions and providing documents in a shared folder as the city continues due diligence on the potential acquisition of 1470 Warren Road to address City Hall space needs.
Byington said the property owner has offered to meet with council to answer questions and that the city—s third-party consultant, Project Management Consultants (PMC), is working with staff to complete its scope of work. Staff said an independent estimator will be engaged to evaluate the Warren Road property and that additional committee meetings will be scheduled to review detailed materials.
Council moved to receive and file the communication. In remarks after the motion, members said they expected multiple meetings and detailed reviews, noting that answers to some questions prompt additional questions and that the matter will likely require more than one committee meeting.
Ending: The planning department asked council members to review the shared folder of documents and submit additional questions; staff said they will continue work with PMC and an independent estimator and will schedule committee time for a full review.
