Council confirms reappointment and new appointment to Revenue Division Appeals Board

Portland city councilors on Wednesday confirmed the reappointment of Adam Applinale and the appointment of Greg Freeman to the Revenue Division Appeals Board.
Finance staff introduced the two candidates during the meeting, describing Applinale as the current RDAB chair, a licensed CPA and managing partner/CEO of Cobalt PC, and introducing Greg Freeman as a licensed CPA and senior manager at Geffen Mesher with more than 20 years of tax experience. Finance committee members indicated unanimous support in committee.
Councilor Avalos moved the appointments and Councilor Kunal seconded. The clerk called the roll and the presiding officer announced the appointments were confirmed with 12 aye votes.
The finance staff said Metro IGA approval (where required) was received for the new appointment. The council did not discuss candidate conflicts of interest in detail; the finance chair indicated committee checks included household income/affiliation questions for candidates. Councilors thanked both appointees for volunteering to serve.
Vote: appointments confirmed 12–0.
