The Carson Reclamation Authority unanimously approved the minutes of its July 7, 2025, regular meeting and three consent items at its meeting Tuesday, Sept. 2, and heard announcements about a Sept. 6 “Blues, White Linen” event at Carson City Hall and a recent job fair that drew strong community turnout.
Authority Vice Chair Hicks announced details for the fifth annual Blues, White Linen affair, saying the event will be held Sept. 6 at Carson City Hall’s park area, that tickets cost $65 and that only about 30 remained. “It has always been a sold out event every single year,” Hicks said, and noted the program includes a southern Cajun meal and beignets for ticket holders.
The authority also received praise for a job fair organized with the South Bay WIB and the Carson Citizens Cultural Arts Foundation. An unnamed board member who spoke at the meeting said organizers had received “incredible” feedback and reported employers were hiring on the spot. Meeting remarks said the job fair drew more than 500 attendees and about 70 vendors.
