The district said it chose alternate pathways for career and technical options, including a welding pathway and the option for students to attend DC Tech, rather than operate the proposed CTE program in-house.
"The previous assistant to the superintendent started this and wanted us to have our own CTE program," a district representative told the board, adding that "no work has been done on that since 2023" and that staff "went in a different direction" for student pathways. The speaker said the partial approval triggered PIMS reporting obligations, and board approval was required to have the entry removed.
Board members did not identify additional conditions or a timetable for when the Pennsylvania Department of Education would complete the removal. The motion passed on a voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting transcript.
The action will remove the district from CTE reporting tied to the incomplete 2023 application; the district said the application's presence in state systems was not intended to reflect an active program but was a remnant of the abandoned submission.
