Transit presenter Chancey said the contractor performs weekly cleaning and full-fleet cleaning on Saturdays and occasionally handles additional tasks such as window treatments and extra detailing. The contract previously went out to bid in 2023 and the contractor was the low bidder; the county allowed a 5.3% rate increase this year after two years without change.
Chancey said the service is funded from transit preventive-maintenance grant funds, not general fund revenue. He told the board the contract includes a termination-for-convenience clause allowing either party to end the agreement with 10 days’ notice.
Commissioners approved the contract renewal on motion and roll-call vote, with Commissioners Smith, Barnett and Black recorded as voting yes.
