Englewood schedules study sessions, budget hearing and multiple first readings for September–October meetings

Englewood city leaders used a brief mayor–manager meeting Wednesday to finalize scheduling and agenda items for meetings in September and October, including a Sept. 8 study session on South Broadway, a Sept. 15 public hearing on the proposed 2026 budget and several ordinance first readings and grant acceptances.

The meeting matters because it sets the calendar and time allotments ahead of hearings and first readings that could lead to formal council decisions on infrastructure projects, grants and contracts. The decisions scheduled include budget hearings, a ground-lease termination and title transfer, and multiple contract renewals and first readings that will come before the City Council in the coming weeks.

Deputy City Manager Tim Dodd said, “We have a study session coming up next week on Monday, September 8,” and the group scheduled one hour for a South Broadway presentation with an additional 30 minutes reserved for discussion if needed. Dodd told the mayor and staff the South Broadway presentation could be shortened from an hour-and-a-half to about an hour because the material had been completed the day before.
