Vice President Tanisha Holman introduced two Southeast Technical College staff who received honors from the South Dakota Association for Career and Technical Education (SDACTE).
Ben Ringling, identified in the presentation as a horticulture instructor, was recognized as a “friend of CTE” for his work with horticulture education and the use of apprenticeship models; Holman noted he was nominated by Harrisburg School District. Dr. Sarah Vandercamp, described as director of the Eastern South Dakota Perkins consortium, was honored as Postsecondary Professional of the Year for work connecting rural districts (about 35 schools) with industry and postsecondary partners.
Holman and board members praised the recipients and noted grant-writing and award submissions often go unrecognized. No board action was required for the recognition.
