City authorizes RFP for appraisal services on three city-owned parcels
Summary
City staff received approval to issue a request for proposals to appraise three city-owned parcels potentially for sale or other public uses, including land near Dickinson Middle School and two Museum Drive parcels.
City Administrator Dossinger told the commission the city owns three parcels that staff may consider for sale, development or other public uses and recommended soliciting independent certified real-estate appraisal services for those parcels.
The three parcels described by staff are: Lot 1, Block 1 of the Prairie Meadows subdivision (approximately 13.29 acres west of Dickinson Middle School); Lot 2, Block 1 of the Museum Center Addition at 46 West Museum Drive (about 1.16 acres, identified as the armory site); and Lot 1, Block 1 of the Museum Center Addition at 66 West Museum Drive (about 3.93 acres, described as the land on which the Dickinson LEC exists). Dossinger said the appraisals would support potential sale or other public-use decisions.
Commissioners approved the request to solicit proposals from qualified certified appraisal professionals; the motion passed unanimously. Staff will prepare and release the RFP and return to the commission with proposals and recommendations.
