Commission approves TrueNAS backup bid, renews ABM printer contract for Public Safety Center

IT Director Meyer reported that Dickinson received a cybersecurity grant and solicited bids for immutable backup storage. Six bids were returned; the low bid was rejected for failing to meet three specifications and staff recommended awarding to TrueNAS for their hybrid unit at roughly $113,800. Meyer said the federal grant will cover about $79,000 and the city share is approximately $34,000; the commission approved the award.
Meyer also presented a five-year contract renewal with ABM for three Public Safety Center printers. Staff said the replacement and renewal would yield roughly $90 per year in savings; the contract includes replacement of the equipment over the five-year term. The commission approved the ABM contract renewal.
Both votes were unanimous.
