Votes at a glance: Bannock County approves fees, resolutions, indigent assistance, contracts and notices

At its Sept. 2 meeting the Board approved indigent-service payments, updated fees presented at the Aug. 26 public hearing, two resolutions, an ordinance amendment, contractor agreement edits, public hearing notices for area of city impact, a notice of tax-deed property sale, and consent items including alcohol licenses.
Bannock County commissioners completed a series of motions and voice votes Tuesday on routine and administrative matters, including indigent assistance, fee schedules, resolutions approving salaries and alcohol licenses, a zoning amendment, and several notices and agreements.
Indigent services: Chantelle Laulo of Indigent Services presented case 20250050, an application for cremation expenses through Wilkes Funeral Home in the amount of $1,200 submitted by the deceased’s daughter. Laulo said the applicant met eligibility criteria and agreed to a $25-a-month repayment plan. Laulo also reported a request to release a lien on case number 20000094. A commissioner moved to approve both items simultaneously; the board voted aye.
Fees and legislative items: The board voted to approve fees as presented at the Aug. 26 public hearing. The commissioners also approved Resolution 2025-56 (approving August 2025 salaries), Resolution 2025-57 (approving August 2025 alcohol licenses) and Ordinance 2025-O5, Amendment No. 71 to Zoning Ordinance No. 1998-1. A commissioner moved to bundle and approve those three items and the motion passed.
Public notices and sales: Commissioners authorized publication of public hearing notices for areas of city impact for all county cities (including Pocatello, Chubbuck, McCammon, Fort Hall, Downey and Inkom) and set open houses and hearings for Oct. 21. The board also approved a notice of sale for Bannock County tax-deed parcels to be sold Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m.
Contract and agreement items: The board approved an independent contractor agreement revision with D6 Grama that standardizes contractor payments to monthly billing with net-30 terms (the previously signed agreement used a different turnaround). Commissioners also approved items on the consent agenda, including alcohol licenses.
Each item above was approved by voice vote during the meeting; there were no recorded “no” votes in the meeting transcript for these items.
