County staff told the board a recent claim period reduced the Title III fund balance and the budget before the board reflects that reduction; the final adopted total is lower than the tentative budget that was previously advertised. Clerk Lehi Miller summarized the adjustment to the Title III balance and said the new adopted amount reduces the approved budget accordingly.
The commissioners read a resolution into the record adopting the fiscal year 2026 budget and spelling out that any contingency-fund expenditures require prior approval by a majority of the board. The resolution adopted at the meeting identifies the courthouse at 219 North Main Street in Cascade as the location of the hearing and records the adopted budget total and the county’s requested ad valorem tax amount.
The board approved the resolution by voice vote. The action included an explicit note that certain contingency accounts (the PILT fund and the general fund reserve) will require separate board orders before funds may be expended.
The adoption closes the formal budget process for FY2026; commissioners and staff said there was no increase to the county’s ad valorem levy beyond the amount that had been advertised. The resolution was labeled in the meeting as Resolution 25-14.
