Bonner County accepted a $9,288 grant award from the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation to cover printing costs for an updated edition of the county's noxious weed handbooks, the county's noxious weeds director told commissioners.
Chase Youngdahl, Bonner County noxious weeds director, said the county budgeted $1,000 in cash match for FY26 and is receiving additional cash and in-kind match from Selkirk Cooperative Weed Management Area members. In-kind match includes staff time for proofreading and editing.
Youngdahl said outreach at the county fair showed community interest in printed materials; he reported that fair attendees preferred the local printed handbook to statewide publications. The department aims to complete the project and send files to the printer during the 2026 calendar year.
The board voted to accept the grant and authorized the chair to sign administratively.
