Board approves Title I plan, two IT vehicles and consent agenda; closed session held with no action

The Lincoln County Schools Board of Education took several routine actions at its Sept. 2 meeting.
The board approved the Title I program grant for the 2025–26 school year "as presented." The motion was made by Mr. Jenkins and seconded by Miss Hebner; the motion carried by voice vote.
The board approved the purchase of two vehicles for the Technology Services Department. The motion was made by Miss Hefner and seconded by Mr. Jenkins; the motion carried by voice vote.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included minutes (special called meeting and work session on Aug. 5, 2025; board meeting on Aug. 12, 2025), personnel recommendations, budget amendments, extended curricular field trips and the approval of the bid for the Dale Optiplex PCs. The motion was made by Miss Hebner and seconded by Miss Wyatt; the motion carried by voice vote.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the evening's agenda (motion by Miss Evner; second by Mr. Jenkins) by voice vote.
The board held a closed session pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143‑318.11 to discuss confidential student and personnel matters and matters protected by attorney‑client privilege. The motion to enter closed session was made by Miss Heavener and seconded by Miss Wyatt; the motion carried. After the closed session the board returned to open session and announced that no action was taken in closed session.
All approvals reported in open session were carried by voice vote; individual roll-call tallies were not recorded in the public minutes for those motions.
