The Claremore City Council approved a purchase and sale agreement to sell three tracts of land near Scissor Tail Drive and Country Club Road, the property formerly referred to as The Plaza, to the Cherokee Nation.
City Manager John Fury presented the matter to council, describing the item as a straightforward purchase and sale agreement that would allow the city manager to execute the agreement on Thursday the fourth and to sign any closing documents required to complete the transaction.
“There’s nothing unusual here — it’s exactly what it says,” City Manager John Fury told the council when introducing the item. Councilmembers moved and seconded the item and approved the agreement by roll call.
Staff did not provide sale price or detailed closing conditions during the public discussion recorded in the transcript; the resolution as presented authorized execution of the agreement and closing documents. The council’s vote authorized the manager to complete the administrative steps required to close the sale.
