The Pryor Creek City Council on Sept. 2 accepted the resignation of the Ward 4, Seat 1 councilmember, effective the day of the meeting.
Councilmember Cholla moved to accept the resignation; Councilmember Bradshaw seconded the motion. The council then voted to approve the resignation, with recorded “yes” votes from Lamar, Shropshire, Bradshaw, Rashier (recorded in the minutes as “Rashiers”), and Smith.
Council members did not elaborate on successor selection at the meeting. The acceptance clears the way for the council and mayor to begin whatever appointment or special-election process the city charter and council policies require.
The action was brief and came during the mayor’s report; the council thanked the departing member for service before moving on to the consent agenda.
