The Saratoga Springs Police Department recognized Officer Brad Durham at the Sept. 2 City Council meeting as he was promoted to the rank of corporal, effective Aug. 31, 2025.
Chief Andrew Burton presented a certificate that, in part, read: “In view of these qualities and his demonstrated potential for increased responsibility, he’s promoted to the rank of corporal effective 08/31/2025.” Burton noted Durham has been with the Saratoga Springs Police Department for the last five years and that Durham previously served with the Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake and the Hagertsville Police Department; the chief also referenced Durham’s multiple years in law enforcement in total while correcting a miscount during the presentation.
Durham’s family attended the meeting; Burton thanked his wife, parents and sister for their support. The promotion ceremony included the traditional presentation of a certificate and photographs.
No council vote was required for the recognition; the ceremony was presented as a standing item on the meeting agenda.
