Planning Commission approves multiple plats and rezones, denies Lindenwoods final plat and tables Country Club request

The Planning Commission met and voted on multiple plats and rezoning requests, approving most items on the agenda but denying a final plat for property near Lindenwoods Drive and tabling a rezoning request near Country Club Road for further consideration.

The commission denied the final plat for the development near Lindenwoods Drive after commissioners said the final did not substantially conform to the previously approved preliminary plat. A motion to deny cited city ordinance section 155.044(f)(1); the motion carried on recorded votes of Commissioners Whitney Kerr (yes), Clint Horner (yes), Vice Chairman Knight (yes) and Chairman Jackson (yes). Staff had recommended approval of the final plat, saying infrastructure was installed and that the application combined a planned green-space phase into Phase 7, but commissioners expressed concern about piecemeal submittals and unclear phase ownership.

Why it matters: the Lindenwoods decision sends the application back to the applicant and preserves the commission's role in enforcing the city rule that final plats must substantially match preliminary plats.
