The Saratoga Springs City Council voted Sept. 2 to approve eight change orders on the Drinking Water Booster No. 8 project, which staff said produced small savings on several line items but a tariff-driven increase on the surge tank that resulted in a net contract increase.
Staff presented a table of change orders and explained most were offsets (savings applied to later items). The largest single increase was about $40,000 tied to a tariff change on a surge tank; staff reported the overall net increase across the eight change orders was about $52,000.
Council moved approval of the change orders. The motion was made by Councilwoman Barton and seconded by Councilman Wheldon. The council voted unanimously to approve the item.
No additional financing or contractual contingencies were discussed during the item; staff offered to answer questions but none were raised and the vote followed promptly.
