Cumberland County awards Community Impact Grants to local nonprofits using ARP funds

Cumberland County commissioners on Sept. 2 recognized nonprofit organizations selected to receive awards through the county's Community Impact Grant Program, which uses a portion of American Rescue Plan (ARP) freed-up general fund capacity dollars to reimburse qualifying organizations for eligible expenses.
Vice Chairman Jones said the ARP committee approved the program on Feb. 10, 2025 and the county accepted applications Feb. 21 through April 1, 2025. The program allowed nonprofits that perform a public purpose to apply for up to $50,000 in direct assistance, she said.
"We really appreciate all of the work that our nonprofits on the grama are putting in," Vice Chairman Jones said. "Without our nonprofits, definitely, it would be a challenge for our community."
