Long-serving arts staff member Heather to leave mayor’s office; commission names interim arrangements

Heather, who has served as staff support for the Lexington Public Arts Commission, announced she will be leaving the mayor’s office in the coming months.
"This is my last public art commission meeting. I'm gonna be leaving the city," Heather said, and told the commission her departure will likely be in September or October as she works to finish projects and hand them off. She said Faith will continue handling the commission’s minutes and agendas and that staff will confer with Bill on agendas during the transition.
Commissioners thanked Heather for her service, noting she guided the commission through drafting the master plan (work begun during the COVID period) and through early projects. Members encouraged her to attend future meetings as a member of the public and expressed appreciation for her work organizing the program’s records and projects.
No formal personnel action was taken at the meeting; commissioners discussed transition arrangements and the plan to leave materials in good order for the next staff member.
