Council staff told the committee the city will finalize and post a job announcement for the Inspector General position by the end of the week. The posting will remain continuously open but the first review of applicants will take place after 30 days. Council staff asked for at least two council volunteers to serve on a five‑member interview panel.
Council members requested that the selection process solicit input from existing Inspector General office staff, given turnover in recent leadership, and that staff provide the council a copy of the job description and an implementation timeline. Administration staff said they would work with Human Resources to collect input from the office and to supply a timeline and job posting to council members.
