Asheville Tennis community donates $26,650 to resurface Ash Park courts; board accepts grant

Allen said the funding came from a broader fundraising effort tied to a celebrity event in Asheville — the ‘‘Stars Serving Up Love’’ benefit — and that eight facilities across the region received assistance from the pool of funds. He said the association served as a gatekeeper for distribution and that the total amount distributed across recipients was $102,364.25.
Parks staff asked the board for a formal motion to accept the grant. The board approved the donation in a motion recorded at the meeting; no further stipulations were reported.
