The Wasco City Council appointed Council Member Reyna as the city’s voting delegate to the League of California Cities 2025 annual conference in Long Beach and named Mayor Pro Tem Saldana and Council Member Martinez as alternates.
City staff said three council members planned to attend the conference (Mayor Pro Tem Saldana and council members Reyna and Martinez) and recommended Martinez serve as an alternate because he was absent from the meeting. Council Member Medina nominated Reyna as delegate and Saldana as alternate; council approved the appointments by roll call. Staff noted that if late items requiring votes arise at the League’s General Assembly, staff would either return to council for direction or the appointed delegates could exercise council’s direction on the spot if permitted.
The motion passed on a 4-0 roll-call vote with Council Member Martinez absent.
