The Wasco City Council approved an employment agreement for Lieutenant Lloyd Galatara and the council chamber observed a pinning ceremony for the new lieutenant.
Galatara was ceremonially pinned during the meeting; several elected officials and agency representatives offered remarks and certificates of recognition. Janet Tapia, district representative for State Senator Melissa Hurtado, and Maria Espinosa from Supervisor David Couch’s office presented congratulations. Chief Mora led the pinning and thanked staff and the community; Galatara addressed the council and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, saying, “I just want to say thank you, for all the support and for giving me the opportunity to serve as a lieutenant for the Wasco Police Department. I'm truly grateful.”
After the ceremony the council considered a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute an employment agreement with Lloyd Galatara as police lieutenant. The council adopted the resolution on a 4-0 roll-call vote with Council Member Martinez absent.
Council members praised Galatara’s experience with youth programs and succession planning and thanked outgoing Chief Mora for his service during retirement remarks and presentations earlier in the meeting.
