The Veterans Community Commission discussed planning for the 2025 Operation North Las Vegas GI Family Christmas program during the Aug. 27 meeting.
A commissioner reported he had spoken with the Nellis Air Force Base commander and representatives from Creech Air Force Base; both installations offered support for the program and suggested starting planning as early as June each year to identify service members and families in need. The commissioner also said he would like to involve Amazon as a partner for the program.
No formal motion or budget action was taken; commissioners noted the bases’ willingness to participate and asked staff to continue coordination.
