Commission conditions paint change at Pear Tree Village after owner rep says work already done

The Brentwood Planning Commission on Sept. 2 approved a minor site plan alteration for Pear Tree Village Shopping Center at 210 Franklin Road and required the owner to repaint an indigo-blue area gray.
City staff told the commission the center had been repainted without prior approval; staff recommended approval of the minor site plan alteration subject to seven standard requirements. During an informational meeting earlier in the week, concerns were raised about an indigo-blue color applied in front of a clinic space.
Ward Williams, representing Regency Centers Corporation, which owns the shopping center, told commissioners he would have his team repaint the indigo area to match the gray currently painted in front of Kroger. “I too hate the blue. Indigo blue is not my favorite,” Williams said, adding that the repainting would be done “in the next, couple weeks, weather permitting.”
Commissioner Travis offered an amendment to the approval requiring the blue be replaced with gray; Commissioner Crosley seconded the amendment, which passed on a voice vote. The full motion to approve the site plan alteration with the amendment was made by Commissioner Rand and seconded by Commissioner Veil; the motion passed 9-0.
