Hays County Commissioners Court actions: proclamations, appointments and contracts approved

- Land and parks: The court approved a contract (from-and-ranch conveyance) to add property near Jacobs Well Natural Area and Karst Canyon Preserve (Jacobs Well Acres Section 2, Lot 1) to the county park system; commissioners said the seller is providing the property at below-market consideration.
- Public-safety measure: The court adopted a countywide burn ban (motion carried by roll call), in response to drought indices and to mitigate wildfire risk.
- On-site sewage variance: The commissioners granted a variance under the county’s on-site sewage facility (OSSF) rules to allow issuance of an advanced OSSF permit for a 1.576‑acre property at 1728 S. FM 1626 in Buda (within the city limits). The variance included conditions: an advanced system, an agreement to connect to city sewer when available, and a limit on wastewater discharge (no more than 300 gallons per day per acre). The motion passed by roll call with all members voting yes.
