Alice ISD board approves revised 2025–26 stipend list, adds plumbing support stipends

The Alice Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a revised 2025–26 stipend list on Aug. 29 that included plumbing support stipends and an increased stipend for the head cheer sponsor.

Board staff said the plumbing-support stipends were added because the district lost its licensed plumber; trustees were told Eddie De Leon and a staff member named King will provide plumbing support. The board also approved a recommendation from a committee to raise the head cheer sponsor stipend to $5,000 to reflect duties covering cheer activities across football, basketball, volleyball and other events.

A trustee asked whether the prior stipend for the cheer sponsor had been $3,500; meeting materials confirmed the previously listed amount. Trustees moved and seconded the item and approved it by voice vote.

The revised stipend list was presented as a correction and update to the previously approved budget documents; board members said the change had been discussed in earlier workshops and that the action aligns stipends with current duties.
