Coffee County Board previews 2025 proposed millage, plans public notice and hearing

Officials told the board they planned to publish the notice and meet the legal advertising requirements; staff said they would advertise the digest on the district website and in the legal newspaper starting the following day and then schedule formal action at the Sept. 11 board meeting at 8 a.m.
Board members asked whether timber valuation changes or recently approved tax-relief legislation drove the timber decrease visible in the digest; staff said a timber valuation reduction reflected a recent legislative change and also discussed one-time production/quarter impacts. Staff described the digest posting schedule and confirmed the timeline for board consideration.
No final millage decision was taken at the Aug. 28 work session; staff said the board will consider formal adoption at the advertised meeting.
